Emotional Ages To Make Playa However Mature (Within Reason) You Want in Saints Row 2

It seems like a given that the main character of Saints Row 2 is sociopathic. So I don't quite think I will be able to show how to make Playa appear like an emotionally adult person. However, there are a shit ton of emotional ages that any given sociopath can be. I think I have concluded, with time, that the emotional age range of sociopaths is 1 in the head all the way up to 21 in the head (with people 22.00-24.99 in the head being in a "Sociopathic Tendencies" category, people 25+ in the head being "Emotionally Adult", and psychopaths being 0-in-the-head, or "Emotional Newborns"). Therefore, I went through the character customization part of the game to try to put together a convincing guide, through Facial Expressions, Taunts, and Compliments, on depicting Playa as different emotionally-aged sociopaths. In my opinion, they in general appear to be 13-in-the-head in my opinion, when it comes to how they are in that one game. But since that's through the lens of giving my Playa a "Sleepy" expression and a calm compliment, I'm going above and beyond. Note: since Playa will have moments of ducking behind furniture to avoid gunfire in certain cutscenes, I can't form a depiction of Playa in the solipsistic range (1 to 2.49-or-so years old) of emotional ages. This means I have to start at an emotional age of 2.5.

Emotionally-2.5-Year-Old Playa

Man... That boat explosion sure left a mark on Playa's nervous system. This Playa is aware that others exist, but is in utter denial about morality being a thing that exists. Since they are in such denial about morality existing, the Expression "Evil" is ruled out. This makes Insane the most convincing pick, with lack of emotional regulation making Angry, Scared, Surprised, Sad, Happy, and Fearful the runners up. The lack of Impulse Control at such an emotional age would make the most convincing pick for Playa's Compliment Ha Ha!. For the same reason, the most convincing taunt is Vomit.I have not heard of anyone below the age of 6 saying "fuck," so the Middle Finger is ruled out. Fairly convincing Taunts for the Emotionally-2.5-Year-Old Playa would be Roar, The Dumper, The Wanker, I Can't Hear You!, YEAH!, Na-na-na-nana-na, & Smack that Ass.

Emotionally-3-Year-Old Playa

This version of Playa knows that others exist, and they also know that there is morality out there, or at least... rules, of some sort, even though they don't know what morality, well... Is! This makes the most convincing Expression Surprised, or, if you're inclined, Evil. Other convincing picks would be Blank, Quizzical, Scared, Fearful, Inebriated, Sneering, Happy, Angry, Disgusted, and Joyful. The top pick for Compliment remains Ha Ha!, and the top Taunt is Come Get Some. Other convincing Taunts would be Roar, The Dumper, The Wanker, I Can't Hear You!, YEAH!, Na-na-na-nana-na, Smack that Ass, and Chest Bump. Middle Finger is still on the back burner.

Emotionally-4-Year-Old Playa

This Playa knows what morality vaguely is but has no idea how to apply it. They are starting to be able to reciprocate kindness upon waking up from the coma, but any emotional bonds they have with other living, sentient, animals, would only be bonds to a willing slave. Otherwise, they may have merely childlike bonds, such as to a purple blanket. For this reason, the most convincing picks for Playa's expression at this point are Quizzical, Blank, Fearful, Happy, Sad, and Sneering, with other convincing picks for their expression being Angry, Disgusted, Joyful, and Surprised. The most convincing compliment is Happy Days. Middle Finger for Taunt still shatters the illusion of Playa being this emotionally young, but everything else is fine. The most convincing Taunts for a Playa this emotionally young would be Roar, Chest Bump, & I Can't Hear You!. Other convincing picks would be Come Get Some, Na-na-na-nana-na, Smack that Ass, The Dumper, The Wanker, and YEAH!

Emotionally-5-Year-Old Playa

Playa, welcome to Kindergarten! Or at least, the Kindergarten state of mind. This will be the last emotional age where Middle Finger for a Taunt re-ignites disbelief in the narrative. This Playa is able to form an emotional bond with somebody who nurtures them the most, even if self-centered in its reasoning... Perhaps even a deeply-felt bond. The most convincing Expressions for this Playa would be Dopey & Happy, with Inebriated being a runner up. The most convincing Compliments are Thumbs Up & I'm Number 1. The most convincing Taunts are Na-na-na-nana-na, YEAH!, I Can't Hear You!, & Roar. Runners up are Oh No You Di-in't & Smooth Criminal.

Emotionally-6-Year-Old Playa

By now, no choice is off the table, even though some choices are still more convincing than others. This Playa can bond with an individual deeply enough to mercy kill them for the killed individual's, rather than the killer's, own sake. Even so, this Playa's circle of compassion would be extremely limited and instrumental - perhaps being made up of 1 to 5 individuals, and only them, with no known family of Playa being known to us gamers. The most convincing Expressions, mirroring somebody not finding you useful or, on the other hand, actually finding you useful are Angry & Joyful, respectively. Other convincing Expressions are Blank & Swarmy. The most convincing Compliment is A-O-Kay, with Take a Bow being a runner up. The most convincing Taunts are Flex & You Crazy?. Other convincing Taunts are Chest Bump, I Can't Hear You!, Roar, Oh No You Di-in't, Na-na-na-nana-na, Smack that Ass, Smooth Criminal, and YEAH!

Emotionally-7-Year-Old Playa

We get a greater sense at this point of Playa wanting to leave a legacy, even if a legacy merely personal in nature. The most convincing Expressions are Blank & Grumpy, and Sneering is also convincing. The most convincing Compliments are The Jig, Take a Bow, & Woof Woof Woof, with A-O-Kay and Thumbs Up also being convincing. Ride that Donkey is the most convincing Taunt, with other convincing ones being Chest Bump, Flex, Oh No You Di-in't, Na-na-na-nana-na, Roar, The Dumper, The Wanker, YEAH!, & You Crazy?

Emotionally-8-Year-Old Playa

Certainly, Playa's Compliments and Taunts at this point, if no earlier, should show the capacity to recognize - even years later - those responsible for the high points, and low points, of the life of Playa themselves. Most convincing Expressions: Grumpy, Joyful, & Sad. Other convincing ones are Blank, Angry, & Scared. Most convincing Compliments: Blowin Kisses & Take a Bow. The most convincing portrait of Playa in general, to me. At least in this game. They care not for anyone outside their inner circle, at least in any clear way (their circle being the Saints), but they are capable of giving a select few many chances to prove themselves a remarkable ally, even if such an individual at one of the later chances managed a mere "we know they like trucks and tattoos." The most convincing Expressions here are Blank & Sleepy. The most convincing Compliments are Thumbs Up & I'm Number 1. The most convincing Taunts are Teabag, Middle Finger, & You Crazy?

Emotionally-14-Year-Old Playa

This is where the pain begins. By that, I mean that physical pain, even if not quite agony, should show up on Playa's face to show why they're acting even less mature than they are emotionally. At the same time, they'd generally be sociopathic given some of the decisions that they make, which is why they can't be older than 21.99 inside. The most convincing Expressions for this emotional age (of 14): Grumpy, Insane, Quizzical, & Sneering. Haughty. Evil, Disgusted, and Blank are other convincing ones. The most convincing Compliment is Salute. Thumbs Up & A-O-Kay are other convincing ones. The most convincing Taunt is Spit 'n Flick. Other convincing ones are Chest Bump, Flex, Teabag, & YEAH!

Emotionally-15-Year-Old Playa

It is definitely pain, rather than a mere discomfort, at this point, that Playa is feeling after their coma. It's the last emotional age where Playa could possibly have a Blank Expression. Speaking of which, the most convincing Expressions for them at this point would be Disgusted & Quizzical. Other convincing ones would be, again, Blank, Evil, & Insane. The most convincing Compliments would be I'm Number 1 & Salute. Thumbs Up & A-O-Kay are also good picks. The most convincing Taunt is Flex, with other convincing ones being Chest Bump, Spit 'n Flick, Teabag, The Dumper, YEAH!, & You Crazy?

Emotionally-16-Year-Old Playa

The massive explosion really made Playa go through physical pain. Enough where Fearful is the only Expression that seems to work, given the amount of physical pain they're still going through. The amount of pain influences their Taunts and Compliments into becoming more primal. Just enough to make the most convincing Compliments Happy Days & Ha Ha!. Other convincing ones are Ehhhhhhh!, Woof Woof Woof, Thumbs Up, & A-O-Kay. The most convincing Taunts become Middle Finger, Come Get Some, Oh No You Di-in't, Smack that Ass, Smooth Criminal, Spit 'n Flick, & The Dumper. Playa is going through immense pain. So much that they can't suffer through bending over to compliment or taunt somebody. The most convincing Expression is Suffering. Insane is in second place. The most convincing Compliments are Thumbs Up, A-O-Kay, Blowin Kisses, & Ha Ha!. Another convincing one (happy accident of a pun) is I'm Number 1. Emotionally-21-Year-Old Playa

Playa is suffering through extreme physical pain. They are going through torture. This makes it to where Anguish is the most convincing Expression. Insane is in second place. The most convincing Compliments, with Playa going through pain just to make simple moves, would be Ha Ha! & Thumbs Up. Blowin Kisses & Woof Woof Woof, with the latter's primal energy, are other convincing fits. With the agony making impulse control take a hit, the most convincing Taunt would be Vomit.
